Management

Ben Barhaghi has over 20 years of experience in software engineering and management, driving technical innovation and successfully delivering many large-scale complex software projects. Previously, Mr. Barhaghi served at Cisco Systems, as a key senior manager, leading all aspect of software development activities for Cisco Systems core and edge routing platform I/O cards, including Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet,SONET/SDH, and serial cards that generated more than $280M in revenue. Prior to Cisco Systems, Mr. Barhaghi served as Director of Software engineering for startup company, empowerTel Networks, developing one of the first VoIP interface cards for carrier switches. As indiviual contributer, Mr. Barhaghi developed many complex software for IBM, Amdahl, StorageTek, and NetFrame systems product lines. Mr. Barhaghi holds a MS degree in Computer Science from Wichita State University, and a Master Certificate in Program Management from The George Washington University.

Experience

Expereienced in a software development with broad range in technologies and market segments, including IP Networking, Broadband technology, Storage Networking, VoIP, Ethernet, Channelized SONET/SDH, IPTV/SDV, xDSL, and Wireless.

  • Design and implementation experience with control plane and data plane development of ASICs and Network Processor.
  • Program management experience in system development, involving software, hardware, SQA, and NPI process.
  • Expertise in building effective relationship and working collaboratively in a cross-functional team comprised of diverse personalities and skill sets.
  • Experienced in managing large-scale multiple programs across multiple resource bases (internal groups, contractors and external to the company) in a matrix organization.
  • Prioritization skills and analytical acumen.
  • Experience with Quality Process.
  • Proficiency with project management tools, including MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Web publishing tools.
  • Diverse experience with software tools, including Source Control Management, Defect Tracking, Debugging, Compiler, and Scripting.
  • Experienced in C/C++, Make, Object Oriented Design, Network Management, Linux, and QnX.
  • Working experience with and knowledge of Cisco IOS and IOS XR architecture, Cisco 7600/cat6K/GSR/c10K routers.
